St. Lucie West

St. Lucie West has been spring training home of the New York Mets since 1988, turning 4,600 acres into a sports hot spot and an emerging city center on Florida's Treasure Coast.

The high visibility of the Mets, who won the World Series in 1986, helped put St. Lucie West on the map, prompting an immediate spurt in housing and business opportunities. 2000 Spring Training generated extra excitement when Country Music Superstar Garth Brooks joined the Mets for March Spring Training.

In addition to the Mets spring training games, the St. Lucie Mets, the club's minor league team, plays their home games in the 7,000-seat Tradition Field at the $12 million Tradition Field Sports Complex..
